This book presents the correspondence between a budding English author, Eric Blair, and his French translator, René-Noël Raimbault who, after discovering his first novel, Down and Out in Paris and London, did everything he possibly could to introduce to French readers this author whose greatness he foresaw : George Orwell.
Thanks to René-Noël Raimbault and the quality of the dialogue arisen between the two men from 1934 to 1935, the reader can witness the birth of the author of 1984 and Animal Farm.
